Writing for an app
Every word on the screens below? I wrote them all!
I provided content strategy, messaging hierarchies, and all on-screen copy (as well as scripted audio cues and even some demo voice-overs) for an app that houses multiple vision technologies, including an at-home vision exam users can take from their smartphone.
I interviewed ophthalmologists, engineers, and product experts to gain an understanding of the exam flow and technology. I created a messaging hierarchy based on pedagogical frameworks for instructing users through self-guided processes, culminating in short scripts and flows for device set-up, user positioning, and exam stages. And I partnered with my favorite senior UI expert to map 200+ screens, including happy paths, error states, and edge cases.

Flows for sign-up, info uploads, and managing details.
This app needed account creation, prescription upload, and account details flows to save and manage user information. I developed the flow of content, a clear message hierarchy, and wrote all on-screen copy. I also worked closely with UX and product experts to map error states, error flows, and address edge case flows with clear, kind copy.
